Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav remained unperturbed on Tuesday as he spoke about the long-awaited Asia Cup 2025 encounter between India and Pakistan. The two nations will face each other at the Dubai International Stadium on September 14, a match that always makes worldwide headlines. India will start their UAE campaign on Wednesday, with Pakistan facing Oman on Friday. When asked whether the recent fricative between the two nations will be reflected on the pitch, Surya replied calmly: "Aggression is always there when we take the field. Without aggression you can't play cricket. I am really excited to play cricket starting tomorrow." Under Surya since taking over, India has achieved 17 victories in 22 matches, an impressive feat that has instilled confidence in the team. When asked if India would be altering its playing style, the captain made it simple, he said: "Abhi tak sab badhiya chal raha kyu bina matlab ka ungli karna hai (If something is working then why change)" Surya also underlined the need for part-time bowlers, saying: "It's an added advantage. If your top-order batter gives you an extra over, that is always good for a captain. Someone who can roll their arm is also good." India would be coming back to T20 cricket after a seven-month hiatus, but the captain asserted that the break would not impact the team's performance. He emphasized that players have gained important experience in the IPL and have been putting in efforts in the nets. He added: "We are playing T20 games after a long time. We have had good times at the nets. We are looking to play some good cricket in the tournament." While most perceive India as favourites, Surya played down the hype by saying "It is a format where any team can have an impact."
