Australia captain Steve Smith was visibly upset during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final match against India in Dubai. The incident occurred on the second ball of the 21st over when Ravindra Jadeja unknowingly blocked Marnus Labuschagne while he was looking for a single and later hugged him from the back, leaving Smith fuming. The event occurred when Smith played the ball towards the right side of Jadeja. As the Indian spinner attempted to cut it off with his foot, the ball struck the bat and flew towards mid-wicket. When Jadeja, in an attempt to get balance back, grasped Labuschagne, halting him from running, the missed single resulted in Smith tossing his hands in the air, having a word or two with the umpires while Labuschagne kept mum.
