Australia's skipper and an excellent fielder displayed his catching skills by grabbing an absolute stunner in the slips. He took an outstanding catch in the final session of Day 3 to dismiss Dhananjaya de Silva. The moment occurred on the last second ball of the 40th over when Aussie spinner Matthew Kuhnemann delivered fuller delivery around the off and de Silva came forward to defend it. However, the ball turned sharply, taking an edge and travelling low towards the first slip where Steve Smith was positioned. Smith, who is known for grabbing stunning catches, did not disappoint as the Australian superstar plucked the catch by diving to his right. He took the catch close to the ground which forced the umpires to refer it upstairs. However, the catch was declared clean after review, resulting in de Silva's dismissal for 23.
