Australia's stand-in captain Steve Smith grabbed a stunning catch in the ongoing first ODI match against Sri Lanka. Smith showcased his brilliant diving skills to take a stunning diving catch at the slips to dismiss the Sri Lankan batter Dunith Wellalage. Winning the toss and electing to bat first didn’t go well with Sri Lanka as Charith Asalanka’s side crumbled under the pressure of the Australian bowling attack. Charith Asalanka roared with his knock and tried his best to help the team with some crucial runs but regular wickets on the other side disrupted the Sri Lankan batting unit. One such wicket was Dunith Wellalage, who departed after a fighting knock of 30 in the 26th over. Smith showed his super-fast reflex and grabbed the stunner while flying to take the catch. At one time, the hosts were 135/8 but a life-giving 79-run partnership between Asalanka and Eshan Malinga for the 9th wicket helped their team to get back in the match. Charith Asalanka scored 127 runs from 126 balls and was later dismissed by Sean Abbott as the 9th wicket and later got bowled out for 214. Currently, Australia is under extreme pressure as they have lost their three wickets for just 26 runs while chasing a modest target of just 215.
