According to top Australian cricketers Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Josh Hazlewood, young Indian player, Yashasvi Jaiswal will be a future star of world cricket. Jaiswal has impressed everybody at the age of 22 only. He started the Test campaign in July 2023 with an amazing opening match against the West Indies, scoring as many runs as 171. Then, he did something which is quite extraordinary, scoring 712 runs from five matches against England, only the second Indian ever to score more than 700 in a Test series. A talented cricketer from Mumbai is doing well in T20 cricket also. Jaiswal made 723 runs in just 23 matches of T20I and thus proved himself a strong player for all formats. Cameron Green states that Shubman Gill looks very good technically with immense potential, and according to Travis Head, he "makes bowling look slow" and copes with both pace as well as spin without much of an issue. Though Jaiswal hasn't faced Australia in Tests or ODIs so far, Shubman Gill has played important matches against them.
