Manchester Originals pace bowler Sonny Baker treated fans to a moment to cherish as he took a splendid hat-trick to guide his side to a massive 57-run victory against Northern Superchargers in The Hundred Men's 2025 on Sunday. The 21-year-old, who has just been called up in the England squad for white ball series against South Africa and Ireland, became just the fourth bowler in men's Hundred history to have achieved a hat-trick. He now joins Sam Curran, Imran Tahir, and Tymal Mills in the exclusive list. With women's cricket included, Baker's achievement was the sixth hat-trick in tournament history after Alanna King and Shabnim Ismail done it before. Baker's wizardry arrived in the final phase of the game. He dismissed Dawid Malan on the final delivery of his third set. In the following set, he got rid of Tom Lawes with his opening ball and then castled Jacob Duffy with the following delivery to seal the hat-trick. The Superchargers were without answers and were bowled out for just 114 attempting 172. Baker concluded with great figures of 3 wickets for 21 runs. It was his second consecutive fifty, and again he raised his bat in celebration towards the sky in memory of his father who died earlier this month. Together with him, South African batter Heinrich Klaasen had a late cameo. He managed only 20 runs from his initial 18 balls but burst at the far end to score 50 not out of just 25 deliveries. Klaasen contributed 30 runs from the last seven deliveries, taking Originals' score to 171-3. With this victory, Manchester Originals leveled on eight points with Southern Brave, Birmingham Phoenix and London Spirit. Northern Superchargers are still third with 12 points.
