He got rid of Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Chris Woakes, getting India back into the game. His work contributed to India limiting England to 271/7 in the early stages of the day. Bumrah ended with 5/74, his 15th Test five-wicket haul. His fifth wicket was also his 70th against. England and 47th on England soil. This effort will now see Bumrah's name go on the Lord's honours board, a unique honour for tremendous efforts at the legendary ground. Smiling, he answered: "I didn’t celebrate there because I was tired. I am not 21-22 [years old] that I will jump around. I wanted to go back to my mark and bowl" He also talked about the pride of being on the Lord's board and how he waits to share it with his son one day. Bumrah discussed how he remains determined and tunes out judgment, stating even greats like Sachin Tendulkar were judged during their playing days. Bumrah said: "People will continue to judge me till the time I wear this jersey. Sachin sir played 200 Tests, but he was also judged. It feels good to be on the honours board. It will be good to tell my son about it." A light moment came during the press conference when a reporter’s phone rang. Bumrah jokingly said, “Somebody’s wife is calling, I’m not picking it up,” making everyone laugh. On Day 2, twice during the morning session the ball was changed because its shape got distorted. Bumrah was candid about it stating that bowlers do not have anything to do with such incidents and did not wish to utter something that would land him match fees. India's ace pacer said: "I don’t really control that. I don’t want to lose out on money because I work very hard & bowl a lot of overs so I don’t want to say any controversial statements and get my match fees deducted, but sometimes it goes your way, sometimes we get a bad ball." The controversy over the ball has come in for attention from players and ball manufacturers alike, and we shall have to wait and see how it is sorted out in the remaining matches.
