The highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 is likely to commence from February. After a long talk between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC), the hybrid model is accepted as India refused to travel to Pakistan due to political and cross-border tensions. India's matches will be played at Dubai, while the remaining teams will go to Pakistan for the tournament. In order to host this ICC event, Pakistan went on for the re-construction of the Gaddafi Stadium. The deadline for the completion of the re-construction is expected to be end of this month. However, the visuals that appeared from the Stadium wasn't pleasing. In one video, the construction of the main building of the stadium is still under process and it clearly seems that a lot has to be done for the work to be completed. In another video, the workers are seen to be manually fitting the seats in the venue, and this doesn't seem to be appealing. These videos have raised the questions whether Pakistan would manage to complete the construction before the tournament starts, and if yes, will it be good enough to host an ICC event? This agreement includes the tournaments such as 2026 Men's T20 World Cup and Women's ODI World Cup and it will begin with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The main aim behind this agreement is to find a way to host the matches in Pakistan and India keeping the political tensions aside. Boycotting by any of these two teams, mainly India, would make huge impact on the revenue that is generated by the viewership and crowd. To avoid this situation, the hybrid model is the best possible way to host the event without affecting the revenue income.
