Australia's premier leg-spinner Zampa, who had been mixing up his lengths cleverly, tossed one wide of the off-stump a tempting delivery designed to draw Dube into a mistimed shot. However, Dube read it brilliantly. With his trademark long reach and incredible bat speed, he sent the ball soaring high and deep over long-on, clearing the ropes with so much ease. The commentators were awestruck at the timing and the power with which the hit had been executed, and the crowd at the Carrara Oval erupted in applause as the ball sailed well over the boundary ropes to land many rows back in the stands. Zampa, so often a thorn in the side of Indian batsmen, could only offer a wry smile as Dube confidently looked down the pitch. It was a shot that reminded one how destructive this Mumbai-born left-hander can be once he gets going. Watch here: Clean swing. Towering six. Battling on a challenging pitch, India set a competitive total and then bowled brilliantly to defend it with ease. Each of the six bowlers contributed with at least one wicket, keeping India in control throughout the Australian innings. With just one game left, India has secured their position in the series, ensuring they can't lose. Batting first, India managed to score 167/8 after losing the toss once again. Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma got things rolling with a solid start, putting together 49 runs during the PowerPlay. Abhishek attempted to take on Adam Zampa but was dismissed after hitting a six. Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav added some fireworks to the innings, but Australia’s bowlers, particularly Nathan Ellis and Zampa, made a late comeback. A quick burst from Axar Patel helped India finish on a high note. When it came to chasing 168, Australia found themselves in trouble right from the beginning. Axar Patel took down Matthew Short and Josh Inglis, while Dube and Varun Chakaravarthy sent Marsh and Maxwell packing. The rest of the batting order crumbled as Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar sealed the deal, giving India a comfortable victory and a vital lead in the series.
