Shikhar Dhawan, the former Indian opener, arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Friday. He was welcomed by Nepali fans and followers in traditional attire. Dhawan was seen wearing a ‘Dhaka Topi’ as he walked out of the VIP terminal. Shikhar Dhawan is set to participate in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) for the franchise Karnali Yaks after his IPL franchise Punjab Kings (PBKS) didn’t retain him for IPL 2025. He further said that he is excited to play with the local Nepal talents and will be looking to put up a good entertaining show for the fans. As quoted by ANI, during a media interaction, Dhawan said: "This is my first ever visit to Nepal. I am happy that I am here to play in the Nepal Premier League for Karnali Yaks. I am excited to play the matches with the local players and Nepali (national team) players as well as to put on a good show. Along with Nepal for which it is famous, the Pashupatinath Temple and Mount Everest, I will try to visit those places and experience it.” The Nepal Premier League (NPL) is set to start on November 30 and will witness some widely recognised players participating in it including Unmukt Chand, Ben Cutting, Ravi Bopara and so on.
