The Jammu and Kashmir bowlers reduced Mumbai from 54-1 to 91-6 in the span of 13 overs. Things were going against Mumbai as they lost their last proper batter and skipper Ajinkya Rahane as the sixth wicket which forced Shardul Thakur to enter the field. Thakur, who previously saved Mumbai from bundling out below hundred in the first innings by scoring 51, held his nerves and guided the innings with brilliance. He, along with Tanush Kotian, made it look as if they were batting on a different surface as the duo scored 173* runs off 234 balls for eight wicket. The 33-year-old all-rounder ended the day at a score of 113*, while Tanush Kotian also joined the party by scoring 58* to take Mumbai to 274 at the loss of seven wickets at Stumps. The duo has made the game evenly poised by helping their side to attain the lead of 188 runs and they will look to add some more runs on Day 3's opening session.
