The opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was held and it was hosted by none other than the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. After the performances by Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla, Shah Rukh invited the King of Cricket, Virat Kohli, and the rising star from KKR, Rinku Singh, to have a few words with him. After having a quick chat with each of them, Shah Rukh Khan requested Rinku Singh to dance with him on stage, and Rinku chose to dance to 'Lut Put Gaya,' a song featuring SRK. He later requested Virat Kohli to perform the hook steps of 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan'. Both Rinku and Kohli lit up the stage and made the evening memorable for their fans. IPL 2025 Kick-Off: A Grand Start to the Season The season of IPL 2025 begins on March 22 with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders playing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match at Eden Gardens. The season will feature 74 games at 13 venues with 12 double-headers. The 10 teams, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, are split into two groups, the same as before. The finale will be held on May 25 at Eden Gardens, and Qualifier 2 will also be hosted there on May 23.
