Saqib Mahmood of England bowled one of the rarest overs in the ongoing match against India at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The 27-year-old medium pacer, who replaced Mark Wood in the 4th T20I not only stunned the Indian batters, but also the cricket fans across the globe. Mahmood came up with the ball in the second over struck on the very first delivery, dismissing Sanju Samson with a short ball. Tilak Varma, who had been in a superb form throughout the series, also fell short on the very next ball for a golden duck. He attempted to go down the ground, but the ball that was angling away, took the edge and Archer made no mistake at the Third man. The next three deliveries were consecutive dots to the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav, before Mahmood claimed his third wicket which came on the last ball of the over. Yadav shuffled across to whip the fuller delivery but ended up hitting it straight to short mid-on, where Brydon Carse, who had already taken Samson’s catch on the first ball, made no errors in grabbing it. Also, this triple wicket maiden feat in the second over of the innings is the joint earliest by any bowler in T20I. Previously, Jerome Taylor has achieved this feat in 2007 against South Africa. It is also for the first time that India have lost three wickets in the first two overs of a T20I inning. This extraordinary stuff by Saqib Mahmood has raised the eyebrows on the approach of India. Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma played few good shots to stabilize the Indian innings before Adil Rashid got the better of Abhishek Sharma (29). This wicket reduced India to 57 for four and Shivam Dube was forced to enter the field and guide India to a respectable total by building a partnership along with Rinku.
