The young Australian, Sam Konstas, mimicked the shouldering incident by Virat Kohli on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and India at the MCG. The actual incident took place in the opening session of Day 1 when Virat Kohli deliberately moved towards the Aussie debutant, Sam Konstas, who was hammering the bowlers of India with ease, and shouldered him. A heated argument also took place between Sam and Kohli which was settled by Usman Khawaja who was in the middle with Konstas. When asked about the incident to Sam Konstas, the 19-year-old batter said it was a rush of emotion, and such things happens in a high-encounter between two big teams. However, the Indian stalwart faced criticism from the fans and cricket experts. The ICC also penalized Kohli with 20% match fee and also handed a demerit point as he breached the code of conduct of ICC. Sam Konstas, who was engaged in the field on Day 2, mimicked the same incident to entertain the crowd. He was also seen taking pictures with the fans near the fence and was constantly engaging with the crowd throughtout the day.
