Pakistan almost had India in their hands, but Tilak Varma, along with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, took the game to the winning line. Pakistan had a good start with the bat, with Sahibzada Farhan scoring a half-century and having a partnership of 84 runs with Fakhar Zaman (46). However, after Farhan's dismissal, the Pakistan batting collapsed like cards. Pakistan was all out for 146, having 5 balls left. Speaking about their batting, Agha said, “It is a tough pill to swallow right now. We lost wickets while batting, we were outstanding with the ball, but didn’t have enough runs on the board. We didn’t rotate strike and lost too many wickets. We have to sort out our batting very soon." However, he is still proud of his team and said, "They (India) bowled outstandingly well, they (India) needed 63 from 6 overs, and I thought we had the game. But the batting was what cost us the game. I am very proud of the team, and there is so much to look forward to. We will work hard and come back stronger." India won their 9th Asia Cup, courtesy of Tilak Varma's poised and calculated 69* runs. Sanju Samson added 24 runs and later Shivam Dube scored 33 runs that became crucial after a top-order collapse from India's side. While bowling, Kuldeep Yadav starred again with 4 wickets, taking his total tally to 13 in the tournament. Varun Chakravarthy got rid of Farhan, who looked like a terror, and took the other opener, Fakhar Zaman. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took 2 wickets each. Tilak Varma got the Player of the Match award for his match-winning innings. However, Abhishek Sharma, who could not score, got the Man-of-the-tournament award, piling 314 runs throughout the tournament.
