In a heart-stopping moment in the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Khaleel Ahmed conceded the most costly over of the IPL 2025 season in the 52nd match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. The left-arm seamer was cleaned up by Romario Shepherd, who hit 33 runs in the 19th over. It began with a massive six over midwicket and then another massive shot straight down the ground. Even a wide edge came with four runs, and the pressure continued to mount. Khaleel then served up a full toss which was dispatched over the boundary for the third six of the over. It went from bad to worse when he overstepped the crease and offered a no-ball, and Shepherd made most of it by hitting the free-hit ball for another six. Khaleel did get a perfect yorker over next, but Shepherd completed the over with a top-edged four. The over was a nightmare for CSK and a game-changer which had the crowd mesmerized with Shepherd's power-hitting. Suyash Sharma and Yash Dayal bowled crunch overs and knocked over key batsmen, including MS Dhoni, to keep CSK on their toes. With this close victory, RCB won their 8th game of the season under the leadership of Rajat Patidar. Lungi Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers for CSK with 3 wickets for 30 runs. But it was Romario Shepherd who was awarded Player of the Match for his match-winning innings that turned out to be the deciding factor.
