The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 is providing fans with loads of thrilling moments, but the game between Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) and Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) will be etched in memory for a record-breaking over. This 13th game of the season saw GAW's Romario Shepherd hammer his way into history while SLK staged a nail-biting run chase to emerge victorious. The drama emerged in the 15th over of GAW's innings when SLK pacer Oshane Thomas had a horror spell. The third delivery of the over was a no-ball, and that gave Shepherd a free hit. Thomas subsequently bowled two consecutive no-balls, both cleared over the ropes for sixes by Shepherd. When he eventually bowled a legal delivery, Shepherd was in control and smashed another six, taking the score to 22 runs from only one legal delivery. Oshane Thomas became the first bowler ever in cricket to have given away over 20 runs off a single ball, while Shepherd became the first batter ever to have scored three sixes off one legal delivery. Shepherd's big hitting wasn't over yet, as he continued to score a superb 73 runs from 34 balls and supported GAW to bring up a solid total of 203 runs within 20 overs. In pursuit of 203, Ackeem Auguste played a daring knock of 73 runs from 35 balls to guide his team's chase. SLK made a flying start to the chase with 86 runs in the powerplay. Tim Seifert helped well with a brisk 37 off 24 balls. The match was a perfect example of how unpredictable and thrilling this format of the game is, with Shepherd's record-breaking strikes and Auguste's match-winning innings knock making it a memorable CPL 2025 game.
