Former Indian skipper and Mumbai Indians (MI) ace batter Rohit Sharma was recently spotted enjoying quality time with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and kids in Mumbai as MI readies for its next match against Delhi Capitals (DC). The veteran cricketer seemed relaxed, having a short reprieve from the cutthroat IPL season with family in a relaxed and serene environment. The peaceful moment took a frustrating turn, though, when Rohit caught a glimpse of a fan surreptitiously recording him in his private time. In a video that has since appeared online, Rohit in casual clothes and on the phone is visibly frustrated. He points emphatically towards the person behind the camera, straightforwardly asking them to desist from filming. His reaction was because he wanted space and boundaries, particularly when with his family. Delhi Capitals, while chasing 181, were never in the running as they faced a total batting collapse. The pitch provided turn from the very beginning, and with no hint of dew in the evening, the conditions were perfect for the spinners. Mitchell Santner was the headline act, producing a masterclass of spin bowling that laid waste to the Delhi middle order. He was ably complemented by a well-disciplined bowling unit which reaped dividends early on with the new ball, knocking off DC's top three during the powerplay. On a decent surface to bat on, Delhi's batsmen were clueless in the face of variations and pressure generated by MI's bowling attack. Earlier, Mumbai had scored a competitive 181 with helpful contributions from everywhere in the batting line-up. The victory not just raises their confidence but also paves the way for an interesting playoff contest as MI join GT, RCB, and PBKS among the last four. With qualification possibilities now in place, focus returns to the remaining couple of league fixtures where teams will scramble to finish in the top two, which provides the crucial second ticket into the playoffs.
