The Indian cricket team, headed by Rohit Sharma, had left Canberra for Adelaide Oval to feature in the 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India had a dominating opening Test of the four-match series. The previous three-times BGT winners comprehensively won it by 295 runs. Their team played out a warm-up match with the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra during their visit. The practice game was impacted by rain as well and had to be cut down to 46 overs on both sides, resulting in India winning the game with a six-wicket lead. Rohit, disappointed not to have received full two-day practice, thanks to the fans for support. Rohit said: “Yeah, it was fantastic. We got what we wanted as a group. But we were a little unlucky that we didn’t get the whole game. It was washed out the other day. But whatever time we got, we tried to make the most of it, and we got pretty much out of what we had in front of us." He added: “It’s absolutely fantastic. You know, we love coming to Australia, and we love watching our fans come and support us. You know, there has never been a time where we’ve come here and, you know, the guys have not turned up for us. So it’s always nice to see people coming and supporting us. India."
