Team India comprehensively defeated Bangladesh in the first Test played in Chennai by 280 runs. It was a strong win, what with Indian players, in total, curtailing Bangladesh at 174 and then coming back again to garner centuries from Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill besides a five-wicket haul from Ravichandran Ashwin, thus maintaining their stranglehold over home. Ashwin troubled the Bangladesh middle and lower order with his spin, which made their chase tough. However, before Ashwin could come into the attack, Shakib al Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto put up a fight in the first hour of day four. The pair added 51 runs for the fifth wicket while putting up a great show of resilience. Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, tried a trick during the match that Stuart Broad has already done. Rohit mimed Stuart Broad's 'bail swap' move, even pretending to blow magic dust over the stumps in an attempt to get a breakthrough. After swapping the bails, Broad dismissed Marnus Labuschagne, and Australia collapsed to 185/7. Broad repeated the trick in the second innings and got another wicket which became his last in Test cricket. Kohli's Attempt in South Africa: With success @imVkohli ?! https://t.co/yKmPajb2sg — Stuart Broad (@StuartBroad8) December 27, 2023 After Broad got a wicket against Pakistan, Virat Kohli did the 'bail swap' in India's Test series against South Africa. Kohli was seen changing the bails before Jasprit Bumrah's over and Bumrah went on to dismiss Tony de Zorzi, ending the 93-run stand. Broad reacted to the situation on his social media handle, noticing how Kohli was trying to pay him back for pulling a similar stunt.
