Pant, who was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega auction, was picked up by LSG for a record-breaking INR 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in league history. Additionally, he was named captain for the tournament. However, the Indian wicketkeeper has struggled to make an impact so far. In three matches, Pant has managed only 17 runs, averaging 5.66 with a strike rate of 65.38. He has looked out of sorts in each game and will be eager to turn things around against the Mumbai Indians. Notably, he has a strong track record against MI, having scored 402 runs in 16 matches, including three half-centuries. With LSG seeking their second win of the tournament, they will be hoping for something special from their captain. The World Cup-winning captain has scored just 21 runs in three matches, averaging 7 with a strike rate of 105. While he has shown glimpses of form in the past two games, he has failed to capitalize and has been dismissed cheaply. Rohit's struggles have become a talking point this season, with some suggesting that, if not for his superstar stature, the team management might have dropped him. This match holds importance for Rohit Sharma, as his future selection in the Indian team reportedly depends on his performance in IPL 2025. So far, he has failed to make an impact and will be determined to score big against LSG. Since 2022, Rohit has accumulated 165 runs in six innings against LSG, averaging 27.50 with a strike rate of 142.24. Mumbai Indians, who lost their first two matches, bounced back strongly against Kolkata Knight Riders with an eight-wicket victory. They will be keen to build on that momentum and grab another win against LSG.
