Uthappa did not waste any time and started striking from the ball one to amass 27 in the opening over of the match itself. Bharat Chipli also batted superbly by scoring 53 runs and holding the innings well. The powerful knocks helped the Indian team to reach a good total of 119 runs losing just two wickets in six overs. Indian batters proved their muscle power while hitting 8 sixes and 14 fours during their whole innings. A target of 120 seemed to be a little beyond par, but Pakistan batter made this chase look even easier. They chased down the target in just 5 overs scoring 121. Muhammad Akhlaq had scored 40 runs, while Asif Ali showed great batting skills by smashing 55 runs before getting retired hurt. Faheem Ashraf also scored 22 runs in just 5 balls. During Pakistan's innings, aggressive batting was seen they smashed 14 sixes and 6 fours which helped them to complete the chase dominantly.
