At the 2nd Test between India and England at Edgbaston, Birmingham, Rishabh Pant provided the fans with a chance to smile even in the midst of the pressure of the match. Attempting to loft Sohaib Bashir down the ground, Pant's timing was off and he ended up playing it straight to long-off, where he was easily caught. What made the dismissal more humorous was that Pant's bat came out of his hand towards the leg side when he attempted the shot. England's Brydon Carse picked up the bat and handed it to Pant, giving a light-hearted feel to an otherwise disappointing experience for the Indian batsman. Ben Stokes fumes at umpire after Jaiswal's offer granted Pant Breaks Stokes’ Record for Most Test Sixes Abroad Rishabh Pant surpassed a great world record while hitting his 58-ball 65-run cameo on Day 4 of the second Test of the current five-match series between India and England as he became the head of a list which included Ben Stokes at the helm for quite some time. With his first of his three maximums against Josh Tongue, he surpassed Stokes' record of 21 in South Africa to emerge as the top batter for most number of sixes in Tests abroad. Up to the time Pant came back to the dressing room, his count increased to 24. The second-highest count by a visiting batter in England is 16 by Sir Vivian Richards. Pant, who had scored just 25 in the first innings, ensured he was among runs during the second essay. Pant ultimately fell to Shoaib Bashir, for the second time in the match, while trying a furious slog. Pant, though, mis-hit the ball against Ben Duckett on the long-off rail to give Bashir his first wicket in the second innings. India's advantage has crossed 450, and one will have to wait and watch when they announce to have a crack at the hosts with the ball. The Shubman Gill-led side will be eager to draw level after their five-wicket defeat in the series opener at Headingley. The third series game is expected to start on Thursday, July 10, at Lord's. The last two matches of the series will be hosted at Manchester's Old Trafford (from July 23) and London's Oval (from July 31).
