Rishabh Pant showed his spin bowling prowess in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024. Pant was playing for the Purani Dilli 6 team, and he decided to bowl in their latest match against South Delhi Superstarz on Saturday. Although he never bowled in an international game, with the Superstarz needing just 1 run to win, Pant took the ball. The first game of the Delhi Premier League T20 got underway between South Delhi Superstarz and Purani Dilli 6 at Arun Jaitley Stadium. After the latter elected to bat first, they provided a good total of 197/3 in 20 overs on the back of a solid 59 off 41 by Arpit Rana and the quickfire 47 off 19 balls by Vansh Bedi. However, South Delhi Superstarz pulled off a great chase with three wickets in hand and one over to spare. The chase was powered by captain Ayush Badoni, who hit 57 off 29 balls, and Priyansh Arya, whose critical role with his opening partner Sarthak Ray saw him smash 73 runs in the Powerplay. Though they lost four quick wickets, which included Badoni's, the lower order of South Delhi showed great determination to hang in there. Vision Panchal and Digvesh Rathi gathered 13 runs from the final 2 overs to seal the victory for their team.
