The head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a.k.a. Andy Flower, has visited Rishikesh and met Swami Chidanand Saraswati, president and spiritual head of Parmarth Niketan Ashram. As per the video of the ANI, the new agency stopped by him on the occasion of Yoga Day (22.06.2025). Flower said that he has been there for the last two weeks. He shared that how Yoga is not something concise for a day's practice but a principle of life and how it shapes life overall. Speaking to the Agency, Flower said. "My name is Andy Flowe, and I am originally from Zimbabwe. It's been brilliant being in Rishikesh for the International Yoga Day. I have actually been here for two weeks. But the coincidence is that I have coincided with International Yoga day which is brilliant. I am learning a lot of things about yoga. The main thing I have learned about yoga is that it's not just a one-hour class that you do, but it's actually a way of life for hundreds and millions of people, which I found astounding, how ignorant I was about it. So that's been quite a bit of learning." Its great for my body. And the consistency of them. But also the Pranayamas, the yoga we did during the relaxations, the methods and the sound healing... and I think it's good for my soul as well. And to be here on International Yoga Day and meet the swamis has been a real privilege." After taking over as head coach last year, Andy Flower made history by guiding Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to their maiden IPL title. Known for his practical coaching style and wealth of experience, Flower is credited with playing a significant role in reshaping the team’s internal culture. However, the franchise now faces legal scrutiny following a tragic stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during their victory celebration, which resulted in the deaths of 11 people.
