Once more, Ravindra Jadeja has become the talking point. This time, though, it is not for his skill within the four walls of the cricket field. It is because of the still-growing noise on his possible trade to Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2026. The star all-rounder is currently part of the Team India camp ahead of the first Test against South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. However, a short interaction during practice with a fan has added more fuel to the ongoing trade talk. Jadeja's response fuels trade speculations While Jadeja was practising ahead of the match, a fan asked him, “Jaddu Bhaiya, Rajasthan or CSK?” Jadeja looked at him, smiled, and replied, “Recording chalu hai” (recording is on). The clip went viral within minutes, and fans quickly started assuming that Jadeja’s move to Rajasthan Royals is all but confirmed. Many believe that had he been sure of staying with CSK, he would have replied confidently. On November 10, news came out that Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings had verbally agreed on a huge three-player exchange deal. Along with Jadeja and Samson, England all-rounder Sam Curran is also part of the deal. What remains now is just the official announcement, and that is likely to come soon as the deadline for all IPL teams announcing the retention list of their players for the 2026 season ends on November 15. Both Jadeja and Samson are valued at ₹18 crore each, so the direct swap was the easiest part of the deal. But Rajasthan Royals wanted more and first asked for Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis before settling for Sam Curran. With Jadeja and Curran joining RR, the team gets a strong boost in the all-rounder department. Jadeja is also seen as the likely new captain of the franchise. Samson's move to CSK marks a new chapter for the Chennai side, who are in dire need of one experienced Indian wicketkeeper-batter with leadership qualities as MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his career. The trade was being viewed as a massive win-win for both sides as they prepared for a new IPL era. For now, Jadeja remains focused on the Test series, but the buzz around his IPL future keeps growing with every passing hour.
