Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud had a very narrow escape as he came very close to an injury in a spine-chilling collision with India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the first Test match at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mahmud, who bowled great and troubled the Indian batters, was reportedly worried for a while before recovery brought relief for the Bangladesh team. The incident occurred in the 50th over of India's first innings when Jadeja was trying to help India recover from a sudden collapse in their batting. Jadeja started the over with a bang, hitting Mahmud for a huge six over mid-wicket. But on the very next ball, Mahmud made a smart comeback. He bowled a delivery that swung back into Jadeja, hitting him on the pads. Mahmud appealed for LBW and Jadeja was given out by the umpire. While celebrating the wicket, Mahmud ran towards the striker's end. That was the same time Jadeja was trying to run for a single. The two players collided and fell to the ground. For a moment, it looked like either of them could get hurt. Luckily, both Mahmud and Jadeja were fine and up in a jiffy. They shook hands and apologized to each other over the accidental collision. The replay had shown a slight edge of the bat before the ball hit the pads. Jadeja stayed at the crease and continued to bat with Ravichandran Ashwin. Till that point, the duo had added 64 runs together for the seventh wicket and helped India cross 200. Jadeja was batting on 21*, while Ashwin was unbeaten on 40*, so the total of India stood at 209/6. Currently, both Ashwin and Jadeja are going great and would hope to end the day on a high note.
