The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have proved once again that they trust MS Dhoni by retaining him before the IPL 2025 mega auction. Dhoni will remain with the Yellow Army under the uncapped player category for ₹4 crore. Even though Dhoni was once among the highest-paid players in the IPL, his decision to accept a ₹4 crore contract did not surprise fans. Known for his loyalty and calm leadership, Dhoni has been part of CSK since the league’s very first season in 2008. Although the team could not make it to the playoffs during his tenure, Gaikwad is still an integral part of CSK's future plans. Ruturaj, who led India to gold at the Asian Games 2022 (played in 2023 due to Covid-19), has earned a lot of praise for his composed approach. With Dhoni still in the team, his know-how will go on to mentor youngsters and shape CSK's next generation. While Dhoni approaches the twilight years of his career, fans are still keen to know if he will continue to play a full season or assume a mentorship role post-IPL 2025.
