In the first Test between South Africa and Bangladesh, Kagiso Rabada bowled a great delivery which saw the stumps of Mushfiqur Rahim shatter at the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium on Monday. The wicket took Rabada to 300 Test wickets. He became the sixth South African bowler who reached this mark. Rahim had scored just 11 runs at the time of the dismissal. Bangladesh batters are in trouble as the South African bowlers are showing no mercy. In the 14th over, Rabada bowled a good-length delivery outside off stump. The ball moved inward a foot, and Rahim was not prepared to defend it. The ball went past his bat and pad, and his stumps were knocked down. He became the 3rd fastest South African bowler to reach the milestone. Early on, Bangladesh looked a tad discomfited in their innings as they lost several wickets in the first session. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto had won the toss and decided to bat but things did not go well for him. He lost Shadman Islam to Wiaan Mulder for a four-ball duck and then saw Mominul Haque and Shanto himself go to leave them at 21/3. That is when Rabada again got a wicket with a brilliant catch by Tristan Stubbs, sending Litton Das back to the pavilion for just one run, and Bangladesh were then in quite some trouble at 45/5.
