23-year-old Priyansh Arya made headlines on August 31 as he whacked six sixes in an over in the Delhi Premier League-DPL. The batsman Arya, who made his debut for Delhi in the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, achieved the feat while representing South Delhi Superstarz. This stupendous performance came in the 12th over of their match against the North Delhi Strikers when he hammered left-arm spinner Manan Bhardwaj. Bhardwaj had already been expensive, giving away 24 runs in his first over and ended up eventually with figures of 0/60 at the end of the 12th over. The best part of Arya's performance, however, was that all six sixes were hit straight, either over long-on or long-off. Arya used his feet to hit two of the sixes and stayed in his crease for the rest four. He reached his century in the 15th over to mark his second century of the season after scoring 107* off 55 balls against Purani Dilli 6. At this point, Arya leads the DPL 2024 run charts with over 450 runs. His teammate Ayush Badoni also scored a century in the same match.
