In a heart-stopping moment of the IPL 2025 Final match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), Phil Salt made a stunning catch in the boundary to send Priyansh Arya back to the pavilion. The mishap occurred on the last ball of fifth over when Josh Hazlewood bowled a short ball to Priyansh Arya, who attempted to pull it over the boundary. The ball seemed destined to go for a six, but Phil Salt, at deep backward square leg, ran to his right and grabbed the ball in full stretch. But what followed was even better. Realizing his rhythm would carry him past the line, Salt rapidly threw the ball back into the air just before crossing over the ropes. He then returned and finished the catch, displaying excellent awareness and poise in the clutch. Priyansh Arya, who was appearing menacing with 24 runs off 19 deliveries including 4 boundaries, had to head back. This Salt catch not just switched the momentum but also left the crowd and commentators stunned. Watch the breathtaking catch that surprised everyone: Pause it. Rewind it. Arya scored 24 off 19 balls with four boundaries, while Prabhsimran Singh contributed 15 runs during the same period. However, Prabhsimran Singh (26) couldn’t continue his good run and was dismissed by Krunal Pandya in the ninth over. Skipper Shreyas Iyer then entered the field in this high-pressure final, but he could not stay at the crease for longer as Shepherd bagged his wicket for one in the very next over. Josh Inglis, who is attacking the RCB bowlers, is seeing the batters on the other hands walking back one after the other. At the time of writing, Punjab Kings are 81/3 after 10 overs. They need 110 runs from 60 balls to win their maiden IPL title. RCB, on the other hand, will look to capitalize and aim for a few more wickets to move closer to their first-ever IPL trophy.
