The sixth over of the innings turned the game in favour of Delhi Capitals as Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul attacked Ashok Sharma with ease. Ashok Sharma came into the attack hoping to control the scoring, but things did not go his way. KL Rahul started the over with a boundary. He played a smart shot over backward point, and even though a fielder tried to stop it, the ball reached the rope. After that, Rahul took a single and gave strike to Nissanka. What followed was pure attacking cricket. Nissanka looked confident while batting at this point. First of all, he hit a four with his inside-out shot. He then hit a six from this shot as well, and the ball flew straight over mid-off position. Then there was another four scored by him after hitting the gaps easily. He even scored yet another four to end the over, this time past the backward-point. A total of 23 runs were scored in this over. The over had completely changed the dynamics of the match and hence caused problems for the Gujarat Titans team. Jos Buttler scored 52 runs from 27 balls while Washington Sundar scored 55 runs from 32 balls. Mukesh Kumar took two wickets for Delhi but he allowed 55 runs to score against him. Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each. Delhi started the game with a powerful beginning. The Gujarat Titans bowlers lost their control especially during Ashok Sharma's over which resulted in expensive bowling mistakes.
