Shubman Gill, who was spending some time off in Adelaide, Australia, was surprised on the road with an encounter. Shopping and relaxing out, he was confronted by a Pakistani fan who shook his hand and yelled out, "Pakistan Zindabad." The young Indian cricketer did not mind, though, and just went about his day without so much as a flinch, including taking the handshake and then moving off. Shubman Gill was recently appointed as the full-time skipper of India's ODI team, but his maiden game in charge did not go according to plan. India played against a powerful Australian team and faltered in batting and fielding. Shubman, who is normally accustomed to calm and effectual batting, failed to make an impact and scored merely 10 runs in 18 balls. Sadly, he was sacked after getting hit on the leg by a ball, which made him unlucky. As a whole, India was outplayed by Australia, and the game concluded in a disappointing defeat for the new captain. It would be difficult for the initial batters as there would be seam movement. But with each passing match, the pitch gets harder and that would be helpful for the middle-order batters to score a bit. With India lagging 0-1 in the three-match series, it's do-or-die for Shubman Gill and Co to level the tie. India have not won an ODI series in Australia since 2019. India had last visited Australia to play an ODI series in 2020 and returned disappointed at 1-2. Gill would seek to turn the tables after losing all games on captaincy debut.
