The second ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka at the Seddon Park, Hamilton witnessed a gem of fielding performance from Nathan Smith who grabbed an absolute screamer off William O'Rourke's bowling to get rid of Eshan Malinga. On the last ball of the 29th over, O'Rourke bowled a short delivery wide outside the off stump to which Eshan Malinga tried to smash it for a maximum on the on side. However, he misjudged it, and the ball took a thick outside edge of the bat and sailed it towards the right of the third man. Nathan Smith, who already did a few misfields earlier, ran towards the ball from third man and made a full-length dive to grab and absolute stunner near the boundary rope. His stunning effort left everyone awestruck and some even termed it as a catch of the series. Watch the video here: Nathan Smith! The visitors won the toss and asked the Kiwis to bat first at the Seddon Park. The southpaw, Rachin Ravindra smashed 79 runs with 9 fours and 1 six, while Chapman added 62 off 52 with the help of five fours and two sixes. Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips and Mitchell Santner played good hands of 38, 22 and 20 respectively to take their side to a match winning total. The only positive for Sri Lanka in bowling was Maheesh Theekshana, who claimed a hat-trick and finished with the figures of 4/44 in 8 fours. The chase wasn't easy at this surface and the Lanka batters made it look even more difficult by losing their wickets cheaply. Half of the batting unit was back to the dug-out at the score 79 in 16 overs. Kamindu Mendis was the lone warrior as he scored 64 off 66 and his innings comprised of five fours and three sixes. However, with no other batters giving him the required assistance, Lanka ended up losing the game by 113 runs. With this win, the New Zealand has now won the series and the scoreline is 2-0. The final ODI of the series will be played at Auckland, and the visitors will look to bounce back to avoid a sweep.
