For the first time in the eighteen years of the Indian Premier League, the tournament is going to get a new winner for sure. Punjab Kings, who were crushed by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2014 final, have been led to the final match after 11 years, ironically by the former league-winning captain of KKR, Shreyas Iyer. Despite the odds, the boys are showing great spirits, rising up on occasions. On the other hand, Bengaluru is playing their fourth final. It's Rajat Patidar's first time as a captain for the team, and despite being ruthlessly tagged as the "auraless captain" earlier this season, it has been him for the final photoshoot. Today, undoubtedly, cricket will win but will be followed by a heartbreak to either of the sides. However, the players from both sides are pumped up. Phil Salt from RCB had flown to the UK but came this night and joined the team. The Punjab Kings are not behind. Guarded by passionate fans, they are too high for the challenge. In such a situation, Punjab's young all-rounder Musheer Khan was caught in a candid gesture with a fan. Last night, after the practice session, when Punjab Kings came back to the hotel, a fan from the crowd on the street cheered and gestured lifting the trophy. Musheer was getting down from the team bus. He waited and imitated the gesture to the fan. If god/allah/bhagwan is real then this boy will lift the IPL trophy tonight. pic.twitter.com/XuDfulfVg2 — ` (@WorshipDhoni) June 3, 2025 Read also: “They have been dictating terms”: Shreyas Iyer backs fearless PBKS youngsters ahead of IPL 2025 final Earlier, Musheer Khan was brought into the limelight after Virat Kohli was spotted in an animated conversation with his teammate, targeting Musheer. There have been debates saying Virat Kohli tagged him as just a water boy, while some said he was saying that Musheer was the one who brought water during the timeout and then he walked into the bat. Notably, Punjab was in utter distress in Mullanpur during Qualifier 1 against RCB. Punjab's wicket was falling and Musheer was sent as the impact subs- his first match in the league, and that too in the most unpleasant situation. However, he survived just three balls and left trying to sweep Suyash Sharma. For that, Punjab had to play just another match in the middle to come to the finals. Narendra Modi Stadium is now witnessing a wave of Jersey 18. For Punjab, it's the wave versus 12 men. Will Shreyas Iyer's man really win the war? Or will let Virat Kohli add the only missing feather in his career. Time will tell.
