In a worrying incident during the IPL 2026 match between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, India's frontline pacer Mohammed Siraj was left in obvious pain as he attempted to prevent a boundary. The incident occurred in the early part of the match and left the crowd concerned for the pacer. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bat first, and it was Siraj who would open the bowling for Gujarat Titans. It wasn't a great start from the bowler, and he conceded a couple of boundaries in the opening couple of overs, but the problem came in the 5th over with an injury to Siraj. Siraj's pain-filled dive concerned fans The 5th over of the game began with a drive from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi which edges off the bat of Ashok Sharma's delivery. Jos Buttler had a go at it diving from his wicket, but the keeper couldn't get a finger on it and it ran towards backward point. It was where Siraj was stationed, and the fast bowler gave it his all, making a full-stretch dive and looking to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary. But he overstretched himself while making the dive and landed heavily on his side, eventually rolling past the ball which was still trickling towards the boundary. The team's physiotherapist quickly ran onto the field as the play stopped. In the over from the 29-year-old, the pacer conceded 15 runs as he failed to pick up a wicket once again. In the end he ended up with figures of 1 wicket for 48 runs in his 4 overs. In IPL 2026 so far, Siraj has been below par as far as form is concerned. In the first match of the tournament against Punjab Kings, the fast bowler had a torrid outing as he conceded 15 runs in 2 overs, going wicketless in the process. Despite that, he has the backing of the team management, led by head coach Ashish Nehra. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals scored a mammoth 210/6 in 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 55 off 36 deliveries for the team in pink, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made 31 off just 18 deliveries. It was the knock of Dhruv Jurel at the end, who scored a valuable 75 runs off just 42 balls, that took the Royals over 200. At one stage Rajasthan were well on track for a much bigger score but two quick wickets meant that it slowed down the rate a little. It was useful contributions from Shimron Hetmyer (18 off 8) and others at the death that ensured a good score. The Gujarat Titans bowlers tried hard to contain the RR batsmen but found it difficult with Kagiso Rabada being the only bowler to pick up two wickets and it was a difficult target to chase against a formidable Rajasthan side. With Gujarat Titans' captain Shubman Gill already ruled out, the added pressure was there on the rest of the team as they took to the field to chase a huge total.
