Pakistan is facing India in Dubai in a do-or-die match, but things are slipping out of their hands as they scoring at a very slow run-rate. Despite a steady beginning, Pakistan is struggling to get free from dot balls. Babar Azam's flurry of classic cover drive and flicks gave the initial momentum to the hosts, but Pandya got the better of him, followed by a run-out of Imam-ul-Haq, which brought the Pakistani skipper to the crease alongside Saud Shakeel. On the last ball of the 21st over of Pakistan's slow-paced innings, Harshit Rana bowled a short ball at 131.9 kmph which Rizwan pulled it away for a single. Rana stood in his place as Rizwan watched the ball while completing the single and a collision occurred. Rizwan bumped into Rana and the latter was unhappy after this incident as it seemed like an intentional act by the Pakistan skipper. The start was decent as Babar Azam looked in good touch after the criticism post his innings against New Zealand. However, his short innings came to an end after Hardik Pandya induced an edge, and Rahul made no mistake behind the stumps. Imam-ul-Haq, who was called in as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman, had a short stay at the crease, courtesy of excellent direct hit by Axar Patel. Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan then steered the innings, which was extremely slow and filled with dot balls. However, after 25 overs, the duo started opening their hands to unleash some boundaries and increase the pace of the innings. At the time of writing, Pakistan is at 137/2 after 31 overs and Saud Shakeel (50)* and Mohammad Rizwan (41*) are aiming for a strong finish.
