In a bizarre and unfortunate turn of events, Amo Sharks' wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Ishaq was run out in one of the most bizarre manners in the 9th match of Shpageeza Cricket League. The moment took place when Amo Sharks was chasing a target of 122 given by Speen Ghar Tigers. The bizarre incident occurred on the fifth ball of the ninth over bowled by Fareed Ahmad. Left-hander Shahidullah, who was at the striker's end, played the ball to leg side with soft hands, and hence the ball did not travel to the distance. Fareed, who was on his follow-through, rushed to collect the ball, picked it up, and threw it at the non-striker's end as Ishaq was out of the crease in search of a quick single. Fareed's throw went past the stumps, and Ishaq managed to reach the crease. But there was a twist. Lying inside the crease, Ishaq slowly withdrew his hands as if he believed the ball was out of play. He rested on the middle of the wicket thinking he's safe enough and there won't be any more attempts of run out. However, Darwish Rasooli, who was the backup for the throw from the deep, saw the error of Ishaq. He threw the ball at the stumps as Ishaq's hands were out of the crease. The players of Speen Ghar Tigers appealed, and after a referral, the third umpire gave Ishaq out. Ishaq and his team were taken aback by the decision. Shahidullah, who saw the run out from the striking end, stabilized the chase with an unbeaten 57 off 50 deliveries. For Speen Ghar Tigers, the most impressive bowler was Mohammad Ibrahim, who took two wickets for 31 runs. Fareed Ahmad and Ismat Alam bagged one wicket each.
