India is recovering from a whitewash in the T20Is against England as they face Zimbabwe in the first T20I on July 23 in Harare. And in the first ball of the innings, the fast bowler Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Benett. Mayank delivered a 149 kmph thunderbolt pitching on a back-of-a-length area just outside off stump. The ball straightened slightly off the seam, completely squaring up Bennett who was caught in the crease and poked at it. The delivery took a thin outside edge and flew straight to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan. While the on-field umpire initially gave it not out, India immediately opted for a review. UltraEdge confirmed a clear but thin spike from the edge, overturning the decision and securing a dream start for India. Apart from Benett's, Mayank took Dion Myer's wicket too. Other than Mayank, Prince Yadav and Shivam Dube took one each. Notably, this T20I is an official comeback for Mayank Yadav in international cricket after a 21-month absence. The express pace bowler had been sidelined from international cricket since October 2024 due to a severe lower-back stress fracture.
