After bowling out Australia on just 104 runs, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul provided a stable and accelerated partnership for the first wicket on day 2 of the first Test match in Optus Stadium. Team India is nearing their victory in the Perth Test as they have scored 172-0 at the end of the second day’s play and have already taken a lead of 218 and they will look to further strengthen their lead on day 3. The opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul’s partnership of a mammoth 172 runs was the highlight on the second day. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 90 off 193 balls, while Rahul anchored the innings with a steady 62 off 153 deliveries. Among his many highlights was a monstrous 100-meter six off Nathan Lyon, which saw him surpass Brendon McCullum's record for most sixes in a calendar year. Jaiswal was also in the sledging mood, he did not fear the Australian bowlers or the extra pace of the pitch. He played with his grit and batted well throughout his innings.
