Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), had a reason to smile even though his team made an early exit from IPL 2025. Goenka made a post on social media to congratulate India's young chess sensation D Gukesh on registering an incredible victory against World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen at Norway Chess 2025. Gukesh, also the current world champion, defeated Carlsen in a classical time control game for the first time in his life. The match belonged to Round 6 at Stavanger, Norway. It was an intense game, and throughout the match, it appeared as if Carlsen was on top. However, in the endgame, Carlsen committed a rare error, and Gukesh didn't let it slip away. Carlsen, who was not one to show emotions, responded by slapping the table in frustration, displaying how much the loss pained him. Only a few days ago, Carlsen had beaten Gukesh in another match. But today, the 18-year-old Indian Grandmaster demonstrated composure under pressure, just like a batsman rescuing the game from being lost to winning with a final-over six.
