The Punjab Kings' newly appointed captain, Shreyas Iyer, received a warm hug from a little fan upon reaching Lucknow. In a recently viral video, it is seen that Shreyas was walking out with his luggage when the little boy ran towards him with his arms wide open and hugged Shreyas. Leading Punjab Kings, he smashed an unbeaten 97 off 42 balls, powering PBKS to a massive 243/5 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Shashank Singh provided the late boost with a fiery 44* off 16 balls. Punjab's innings had a solid start with Priyansh Arya’s 47 off 23, but early wickets saw Iyer take charge with 5 fours and 9 sixes at a strike rate of 230.95.
