The Manchester Originals Women delivered an authoritative performance to outclass Welsh Fire Women in The Hundred 2025, clinching a comfortable seven-wicket win. Right from the beginning, the Originals were crisp and ruthless, never giving their opponents a chance to gain momentum either with bat or ball. With speed, precision and ferocity, she dismantled the Welsh Fire top order in a few minutes. Sarah Bryce was the initial casualty, her off-stump removed by a brilliant delivery. One delivery afterwards, Emily Windsor tried an unwise square cut and was bowled. Filer then wrapped up an impeccable burst by getting rid of Jess Jonassen, whose mis-timed lofted shot was easily taken at cover. Three wickets from five balls left Welsh Fire in shreds and with no hope of recovery. Their batting was devoid of composure and grit, and once the Originals took charge, the visitors never got a chance to get back on track. Filer's incandescent spell was the highlight, but it was well aided by tight bowling all across, keeping the run rate throttled throughout. Pursuing 74 was never going to be a difficult task for Manchester. Even as Welsh Fire hit a few early shocks, the target remained too modest to stand in their way. Kathryn Bryce led by example with a calm knock, identifying the areas and rotating the strike astutely. Seren Smale gave solidity at the back, making sure there were no slip-ups. Together, they got the Originals home with loads of deliveries to spare. For Welsh Fire, though, it was a disappointing performance all round. Their bowlers were lacking penetration, and even with small contributions from Hayley Matthews, Freya Davies and Jess Jonassen, the chase of the Originals was never in doubt.
