Kyle Mayers, who joined Fortune Barishal in BPL 2024-25's 1st qualifier match against Chittagong Kings, bowled a dream delivery in his first match of the season. He caught the Kings' opener Nafay completely off-guard with an absolute ripper at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Tamim Iqbal won the toss and asked the Kings to bat first in the evening game and the decision started paying off well since the first over. Kyle Mayers, the late entrant into the tournament, was handed the ball to deliver the first over and the 32-year-old did not disappoint. Though he was struck from a four on the first ball by Khawaja Nafay, Mayers made sure to take the revenge without wasting much time. On the very next delivery, Kyle Mayers bowled an absolute gem of a delivery which pitched at the sixth-seventh stump line and swung in like a banana curve to shatter the middle and off stumps of Nafay. With this delivery, Mayers drew the first blood for Barishal and all-rounder later bagged yet another wicket two end his four-over spell with the figures of 2 for 27.
