In the second One Day International between South Africa and Pakistan, an instance of sheer brilliance has captured the center stage with tactical nuances of the game going on the backburner. Not only did the South African bowler, Kwena Maphaka bowl a difficult delivery, but he also redefined the term for a fielding marvel. On the last ball of the 36th over Maphaka bowled a length delivery that hurried onto Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's reliable batsman and wicketkeeper. Rizwan, normally so composed, was a shade late on the shot, pushing the ball low towards the off-side. Maphaka, anticipating the stroke, dived forward to his left, snatching the ball out of the air in a feat of athleticism that left spectators in awe. For most part, Rizwan led the Pakistan team from the front and scored a well-timed 80 off 82 balls. His innings served as the backbone of the total for Pakistan after suffering those early setbacks. It was an important knock, given that the top order had collapsed earlier. Former captain Babar Azam scored 73 runs off 95 deliveries. His stroke play was elegant, though his innings lacked the kind of acceleration Pakistan might have hoped for, given the situation. However, Babar's ability to rotate the strike and his occasional boundaries were pivotal in building a substantial score. However, Pakistan won the second ODI with a huge margin of 81 runs, and they won the series as well. It was clinical performance from the Pakistan team.
