Running in for her second legitimate ball, she delivered a wobble-seam ball that pitched on a good length on a good length just outside off-stump. The ball nipped in sharply off the seam, cutting through Jones' defence with surgical precision. Jones, advancing with a straight bat and immaculate technique, was helpless as the ball snuck past the inside edge and crashed into the top of middle and off stump. A classic ploy three wild balls to get the batter out of rhythm, followed by a jaffa that needed the very best to get through. Goud burst out in jubilation, pumping her fists and unleashing a thunderous roar of excitement as the Indian fielders converged. The Rose Bowl pitch had just sufficient seam movement, and Goud utilized it to perfection, leaving Amy Jones aghast with surprise. Such moments determine matches, and for India, this wicket gave them the initial momentum that set the tone for the rest of the innings.
