Day 2 of India vs England Test witnessed a lot of action. There was a glance of class from KL Rahul in front of the fans with a well-timed drive in the early moments of the innings, but his innings lasted for just a few minutes. At the total of mere 7 runs, Rahul was removed by Josh Tongue, who was troubling him with persistent seam movement. The piece of brilliance arrived in the 8th over. Tongue delivered one full outside off, and Rahul advanced forward to drive it through the point area. The timing was immaculate, and the ball hurtled to the boundary. It was a reminder of the batting ability of Rahul and increased hope of a steady innings. In the 10th over, Tongue bowled a good-length ball just outside off. Rahul remained rooted to the crease and prodded at it. The ball seamed away from the seam and collected the thick outside edge, straight to Joe Root at slip. Root did not make an error, and Rahul had to depart for 7 runs from 28 balls. India's Comeback With the Ball Although India were given a jolt in the early stages, they fought back well. England, who were progressing nicely with the bat, were in for a quick collapse after lunch. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna collected four wickets each as India bowled out England for 247. Zak Crawley had 64, and Harry Brook contributed 53, but the remaining batsmen couldn't contribute much. India's openers took the field with confidence, but they too had to face difficult conditions. KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan got out early. Jaiswal managed to survive some dropped chances and remained unbeaten at 51 before bad light brought an end to play. At the end of Day 2, the game is evenly balanced, with both teams displaying strength and weakness.
