In Dharmshala, the players for the Delhi Capitals looked serene despite the continuing security issues. They were mid-match when the India-Pakistan border tensions led the DC vs Punjab Kings match to be called off on Thursday. Shortly afterwards, the BCCI arranged an emergency Vande Bharat Express train for the players and staff to safely get out of the scenic hill station. The match was called off after the attempted drone strike in Jammu, which is about 200 km from Dharmshala. Both fans and players were escorted from the hill station by Thursday evening. On Friday, Delhi Capitals players had a brief holiday from cricket. A bunch of stars (including KL Rahul) stopped for selfies with fans while enjoying some time in a small stream. The team appeared to be able to disconnect and enjoy the quietness of the scene without details of stress. BCCI had made arrangements with the Railway Ministry for the players’ safe exit as air travel was halted because of the threat, and along with the players, commentators, support staff, cameramen and assorted crew left the venue. With the worsening state of the India-Pakistan conflict, the BCCI held an emergency meeting and decided to suspend the tournament for at least a week immediately. All franchises were advised to disperse at once. The ultimate decision on whether the tournament will resume will be determined after. The BCCI has managed all logistics and worked to ensure travel procedures for all teams were followed properly. CSK players Ravindra Jadeja and Urvil Patel, are already home.
