New Zealand had a tough start on Day 2 of the first Test against Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club. After ending Day 1 strongly at 92/1, they lost a few quick wickets early on the second day. One of the most talked-about moments came when Zimbabwe’s Craig Ervine pulled off a sharp catch off Sikandar Raza's delivery to send Rachin Ravindra back to the pavilion. Ervine's Juggling Catch Sends Rachin Back The moment occurred on the fourth ball of the 48th over when Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza was bowling. Raza bowled a faster ball outside off-stump. The Kiwi southpaw, Ravindra, who had just walked in, attempted to push at the ball with soft hands. But the ball did move away slightly after pitching, taking the outside edge of the bat. The ball shot to first slip, where Ervine was positioned. He got both hands on it, but the ball came out of his hands. Getting excellent reflexes, Ervine soon dived towards his left and held on to the ball using one hand before it touched the ground. The crowd as well as his teammates applauded loudly as Zimbabwe sclaped an important wicket. This was a crucial point because New Zealand had already lost Will Young (41) in the morning. Then they lost Henry Nicholls (88) shortly after, and their score went from 92/1 to 163/3 in the span of 21 overs. At Tea, New Zealand stands at 254/7, with a lead of 105 runs. Zimbabwe has managed to battle back after Day 1, courtesy some close bowling and top-notch fielding. This catch by Ervine may not be remembered as the easiest one, but it definitely was one of the most spectacular moments of the day.
