Jofra Archer returned to Test cricket in a dream manner by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal with a searing delivery early in the innings. At a pace of about 145 kmph, Archer sent down an up-seam delivery that came in around off stump and on a good length. Jaiswal, attempting to play it into the leg-side from the back foot, was thoroughly fooled as the ball kept its line. The resulting leading edge traveled directly to Harry Brook at second slip, providing Archer with his first wicket in the longest form.
